A recap of Tuesday’s minor league action.
Oklahoma City Baseball Club
OKC kicked off their series with a 10-3 victory over the Chihuahuas.
Ryan Ward (DH) led the team with three hits and four RBI. On the season, he has 30 home runs and 91 RBI. He leads the PCL in both of those numbers. It really is a shame he has no spot on the Dodgers because I really wish he could get an opportunity.
Dalton Rushing (LF) reached base three more times and drove in a run. He has a .950 OPS since being promoted to OKC. I’d love to see him get called up later this year, but there’s just no room for him unfortunately.
Andre Lipcius (1B) hit his 22nd homer of the season and drove in three runs.
Hyun-il Choi (RHP) allowed two runs in five innings. He struck out two.
Edgardo Henriquez (RHP) tossed a scoreless inning with a strikeout, but he allowed two hits.
Tulsa Drillers
The Drillers blew a three-run lead in the ninth inning, as they fell to the Cardinals, 9-6.
Griffin Lockwood-Powell (C) drove in three runs and hit his 12th homer of the season.
Damon Keith (DH) had a two-hit day and drove in a run.
Jackson Ferris (LHP) tossed three scoreless innings and struck out five. He did allow two hits and three walks, but managed to escape with no earned runs. His ERA with Tulsa is now down to 0.66.
Great Lakes Loons
The Loons began their series with a 4-2 victory over the Timber Rattlers.
Josue De Paula (LF) hit his third homer with the Loons. He had two hits and drove in two runs.
Jake Gelof (3B) had a two-hit day and drove in a run.
Patrick Copen (RHP) allowed one run in two innings. He struck out three.
Christian Romero (RHP) allowed one run in five innings of relief. He struck out three. His ERA in 12 games with GL this season is 1.76.
Rancho Cucamonga Quakes
The Quakes fell in extras, losing to the Storm, 7-6.
Chris Taylor played second base and drove in two runs as he continues his rehab assignment.
Eduardo Quintero (CF) recorded two hits and drew a walk.
Zyhir Hope (LF) drove in a run with a single.
Sterling Patick (LHP) allowed four runs in 2.2 innings. He struck out three.
Alex Makarewich (RHP) followed with 3.1 scoreless innings of relief. He struck out seven and didn’t allow a walk.
I’m guessing Ward is strictly a DH?
