A recap of Thursday’s minor league action.
Oklahoma City Comets
The Comets fell to the Express, 6-5.
Michael Chavis (1B) drove in two runs with his seventh homer of the season.
Alex Freeland (SS) had a two-hit day.
Nick Frasso (RHP) allowed four runs in five innings. He struck out four.
Jose Rodriguez (RHP) struck out three in 1.2 scoreless innings.
Tulsa Drillers
It was a big day for the bats as the Drillers defeated the Naturals, 13-10.
Damon Keith (RF) was the MVP of the day, as he drove in seven runs. He hit two home runs, giving him six on the season. He also hit a triple.
Taylor Young (3B) had a big day at the plate as he recorded four hits.
Kole Myers (LF) had three hits and drove in a run.
Great Lakes Loons
The Loons dropped both games of the double header, losing one game 2-0 and the other game 9-1.
Nothing really to report on the offense. One run in two games is not ideal!
Cam Day (RHP) had the best pitching performance, as he allowed only two runs in five innings of work.
Rancho Cucamonga Quakes
The Quakes offense is still scorching hot, as they took down the 66ers, 9-5.
Samuel Munoz (DH) reached base three times and hit his third homer of the season.
Jaron Elkins (LF) drove in a team-high four runs.
Joendry Vargas (SS) had a two-hit day and drove in a run.
Hyun-Seok Jang (RHP) struck out six in 3.2 innings. Unfortunately the walks are still an issue, as he issued four free passes which led to five runs.
Arizona Complex League
The Dodgers defeated the D-Backs, 4-3.
Emil Morales (3B) had a two-hit day.
Ching-Hsien Ko (CF) reached base twice. He’s been one of the best hitters in the ACL, as he owns a .969 OPS.
Payton Martin (RHP) allowed one run in five innings. He struck out four and didn’t allow a walk.
