A recap of Sunday’s minor league action.
Oklahoma City Comets
The Comets dropped the series finale to the Isotopes, 6-3.
Ryan Ward (LF) led the way with two hits.
Justin Dean (CF) had the only RBI of the game, as the other two runs scored on errors.
Clayton Kershaw tossed four innings in his final rehab appearance. The next start he makes will come with the Dodgers. Overall, Kershaw made five rehab starts over the last month. He posted a 2.57 ERA in 21 innings with a 0.81 WHIP.
Michael Kopech made his second rehab appearance. This outing went a lot better than the first, as he struck out two in a scoreless inning.
Noah Davis (RHP) threw 2.1 perfect innings in relief.
Tulsa Drillers
The Drillers fell in the series finale, losing 6-1 to the Sod Poodles.
Jackson Ferris (LHP) had a rough outing. In 4.2 innings, he allowed five runs on seven hits. His ERA on the season with Tulsa is 6.12.
Great Lakes Loons
The Loons finished their series with a 7-2 victory over the Dragons.
Kendall George (LF) recorded two hits and drove in two runs. He also stole two bases, giving him 13 on the season.
Zyhir Hope and Josue De Paula had quiet days, but on Saturday De Paula hit two home runs and Hope hit one as well. De Paula has a .946 OPS, while Hope is not too far behind with an .891 OPS. They’ve been two of the best hitters in High-A this season.
Sean Linan (RHP) made his first start with the Loons after being promoted. He tossed four scoreless innings and allowed only two hits. In seven games this season, the 20-year-old owns a 1.07 ERA.
Rancho Cucamonga Quakes
It was a big day for the Quakes offense as they closed their series with a 14-3 victory over the Rawhide.
Mike Sirota (CF) continues to be one of the best players in High-A. He added three more hits and drove in five runs. Sirota currently leads the California League in wRC+ (196) OPS (1.130) and home runs (7).
Eduardo Quintero (DH) reached base four times and drove in a run. His OPS this season is .967.
Jaron Elkins (LF) drove in two runs and had two hits.
Mairoshendrick Martinus (3B) had a three-hit day.
Logan Tabeling (RHP) struck out three in two scoreless innings.
I believe the Quakes are low A. The Loons are high A.
