A recap of Thursday’s minor league action.
Oklahoma City Comets
The Comets fell to the River Cats, 5-4.
Esteury Ruiz (LF) drove in two runs and reached base twice. He’s hitting just under .300 with 34 stolen bases with OKC.
Edgardo Henriquez (RHP) struck out one in a scoreless inning. It seems like he’s fully built up, so just a matter of time before the Dodgers activate him from the injured list.
Alexis Díaz (RHP) went 1.1 innings. He struck out one and issued a walk. I’m guessing he’ll need a couple more weeks in OKC before the Dodgers consider calling him up.
Tulsa Drillers
The Drillers won a close one, defeating the RoughRiders, 7-6.
Kendall Simmons (3B) hit a grand slam for his first home run of the season.
Noah Miller (SS) recorded two hits, reached with a walk and drove in a team-high three runs.
Peter Heubeck (RHP) went five innings and allowed only two hits. He issued four walks, which led to four runs.
Jeisson Cabrera (RHP) struck out the side in a scoreless inning, lowering his ERA on the season to 1.13.
Great Lakes Loons
It was a quiet day for the offense, as they fell to the TinCaps, 7-1.
Zyhir Hope (DH) had a two-hit day.
Mike Sirota (LF) reached twice and drove in a run. His updated OPS with the Loons is 1.083.
Wyatt Crowell (LHP) struck out eight in five innings, though he allowed four runs.
Rancho Cucamonga Quakes
The Quakes won their first game of the series, defeating the Giants, 8-5.
Jaron Elkins (CF) had a three-hit day and drove in two runs.
Eduardo Quintero (DH) had a hit and three walks. His updated OPS with RC is now 1.028.
Samuel Munoz (LF) reached base four times and drove in two runs.
