Mailbag Tuesday: Struggling players + Andy Pages potential

We have a special edition of ‘Mailbag Monday’…. on Tuesday!
The Dodgers embark on their longest roadtrip of the season. They kick it off tonight in Washington D.C. We got a few questions to get to this week, so I won’t waste any more time!
Stan B — Hey Blake. I was at the Ravine for both Brasier late innings HR implosions during this homestand. He’s just not the same pitcher as last season. Why continue to parade him out in high leverage situations? Also, what are your thoughts on a Phillipe’s French Dip stop before first pitch?
It’s still very early in the season, so there’s plenty of time for Brasier to get right. Plus, there aren’t many options you can turn to in high leverage situations at the moment. Outside of Evan Phillips and Daniel Hudson, he may be your most reliable choice. I think and hope he turns it around after a couple of bad outings.
I’m definitely going to get a lot of hate for this……. but I’ve never been to Phillipe’s. I know, I know. I don’t know what is wrong with me. I’ve been in LA nearly my entire life and I’ve never been. I need to get there immediately. I’m sorry to all my fellow LA peeps. I’ve failed you.
Eddie Becker — Can you help me with my fantasy league? Apparently drafting mostly Dodgers players isn’t working out for me with this recent slump the team was in!
I’d love to help Eddie….. but I need somebody to help me with MY leagues first!!! ???
Adam — Has there been (1) any word regarding what the Front Office is planning if CT3 doesn't get back on track soon, and (2) whether any of those plans are named Drew Avans?
I just can’t see the team doing anything drastic with Chris Taylor. I think they’ll keep running him out there. They’re paying him $15 million, which also plays a large role in that. I still believe he’ll turn things around at some point and get back to being a slightly below league-average hitter.
I like Drew Avans a lot and it’s crazy he still hasn’t gotten an opportunity. I mean, the dude has been in OKC since 2021. That is absolutely crazy to think about. He’s been in Triple-A for four seasons and has yet to get the call-up. I don’t think there’s anything else he can do. My guess is he’ll get a shot if there is another injury to an outfielder, since the Dodgers don’t really have any others on their 40-man roster.
Alex Khalifa — How many more homers can Pages hit if he maintains significant playing time?
I think Pages easily has 30+ homer potential in the big leagues. I don’t want to get ahead of myself and say 40+ potential, but he could definitely get there. He has 94 home runs in 416 career minor league games. My ASU math has that come out to 37 home runs per 162 games.
I haven’t been this excited about a Dodgers prospect in a while. Sadly, I think Pages gets sent back down once Jason Heyward returns. I’m not sure what Heyward’s ETA is looking like, but by the time he returns, Pages could be near the top of the team leaderboard for home runs.
