I won’t lie, I was extremely worried for this start.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been pretty damn good during his rookie campaign, but this was going to be his biggest test by far. On the road at Yankee Stadium facing the best team in baseball. Add the fact that there would be 40,000+ screaming fans booing Yamamoto for not signing with them.
For a rookie, the lights could have been way too bright. Instead, Yamamoto shut the crowd up and delivered the best start of his young MLB career.
