Down on the farm: Andy Pages is still very good
He's making it hard for the Dodgers to keep down
A recap of Sunday’s minor league games.
Oklahoma City Baseball Club
It was another huge day for the offense, as OKC defeated the Express 14-5 for their fourth straight win.
Andy Pages continues to play at a video-game like level. He recorded three hits and drove in four runs, extending his hitting streak to eight games. Pages had two homers, giving him five on the young season. His OPS is now up to 1.146.
Andre Lipcius hit his fourth homer of the season and drove in two runs. He’s been great as well, posting a 1.096 OPS.
Ryan Ward drove in three runs and hit his fourth homer of the season.
Jesse Hahn struck out three in two scoreless innings.
Gus Varland allowed two runs in his inning of action.
Drew Pomeranz allowed two runs in the ninth inning.
Tulsa Drillers
The Drillers dropped their fourth consecutive game, as they fell to the Travelers, 9-2.
Jose Ramos led the team with two hits and drove in a run with his second homer of the season.
Kendall Williams had a rough outing, as he allowed eight runs on 10 hits in only 3.1 innings.
Ryan Sublette struck out two in two scoreless innings.
Logan Boyer struck out the side in a perfect inning.
Great Lakes Loons
The Loons took care of business with a 12-4 victory over the Lugnuts.
Dylan Campbell had a huge day with four hits and four RBI. He also hit his first homer of the season.
Alex Freeland reached base five times and scored two runs.
Kyle Nevin recorded two hits, drove in two runs and scored two runs.
Chris Newell drove in two with his second homer of the season.
Christian Romero struck out four in five scoreless innings. He allowed only one hit.
Rancho Cucamonga Quakes
The Quakes’ game got cancelled due to rain
Bring Pages up and then put him in the lineup surrounded by Kiki, Taylor, and Barnes. Are you kidding me? Outman was 1-2 pinch-hitting for 0-2 Kiki last night.
What kindergarten is making these analytic charts anyway? Are they using finger paints? Eating paste?
I feel like we need Pages, Lipcius, and Ward up in the league and send some of these shitty hitters back down. Lux is turning the corner, but Taylor is horrendous and I’d still like to see another backup catcher come up and send Barnes down to learn how to see the baseball and hit.
